Hi,
My name is Mark Tiger, creator of this blog, and of the "Smokers to Non-Smokers" program. Find out more about the program:
I was totally addicted to tobacco products, mainly cigarettes; and spent 20 years desperately trying to stop smoking without succeeding.
Finally in 1999, I used a method that I had created for myself; and I managed to become a non-smoker. I never smoked again.
In 2005, I decided to share the methods that I had used to successfully become a Non-Smoker, with Smokers who wanted to become Non-Smokers.
After helping over three hundred Smokers to become Non-Smokers, my success rate was a little over 99%. From this experience I have improved the program, to assist those who are already non-smokers; to remain non-smokers for the rest of their lives.
Smoking Facts – Part 3
Whatabout pipe and cigar smoking?
These smokers tend to inhale less smoke than cigarette smokers; therefore their risk of heart disease is less. Also the risk of strokes and many other ailments is also reduced to a certain extent. Unless you start inhaling the smoke from a pipe or cigar, then you are back with the same risks as cigarettes.
On the other hand, they have an increased risk of developing mouth and tongue cancer. If you have ever smoked a pipe, then you will know how difficult it is to get the tobacco mixture just right. I smoked a pipe for a while, and had a lot of trouble getting my tobacco mixture just right. I kept going to a tobacconist, and he kept changing my tobacco mixture, until finally it seemed to burn the tip of my tongue and my throat a little bit less.
Smoking a pipe or cigar these days, is also more difficult, then smoking cigarettes. For example you get a smoke break, and need to clean your pipe out, pack it with tobacco, get it going nicely, and after a few minutes, you have to shut it all down, and store it in a bulky bag, until the next smoke break. Cigars have the same problem, you really need about half an hour to enjoy a cigar. Otherwise you get your cigar going nicely, and after a while you need to kill the fire and save it in a suitable container until the next smoke break.
Marijuana - good or bad for the heart?
The risk of a heart attack increases five times within an hour of smoking marijuana because of an increased heart rate and the changes in blood pressure that occur. Now let’s say that you are a smoker, and therefore have a three times higher risk of a heart attack or stroke. Now you add another five times that risk. From a health perspective do you really want to do that to yourself?
There is no safe level of smoking. The most important step for smokers is to become Non-Smokers. There is always some benefit to becoming a non-smoker regardless of how many years you have smoked, regardless of the damage that you have done to your body. I have helped people to become non-smokers, who had smoked for around fifty years. I have helped smokers to become Non-Smokers, who had smoked for less than a year. Why don’t you start the journey to becoming a Non-Smoker today?
Mark Tiger.
